The third game in the Tribes series, Tribes: Vengeance, has gone gold and is off to reproduction facilities, Vivendi Universal announced on Tuesday. Developed by Irrational Games - Australia, this sci-fi FPS follows in the footsteps of Tribes 2 (review) and once again features multiplayer gaming with jetpacks, spinfusors, and other futuristic weaponry in what is no doubt a very complicated team game. Irrational has also spent extra effort tying the storyline back to the original Starsiege universe (the basis for the first game), to create a more memorable single player experience. Another multiplayer demo (updated from the demo) is expected to be released shortly, but in the meantime, a multiplayer beta test and single player demo are both available.
Tribes: Vengeance will ship to stores in the United States on October 5th, priced at $50. For more on the game, visit its official web site.
