In stores March 2nd, priced at $49.99.
The latest game to be based on the Lord of the Rings game license has been completed: Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II will be in stores on March 2nd across North America. The new 3D RTS follows the formula established by 2004's Battle for Middle-earth (review), but instead of using movie content from Peter Jackson's popular trilogy, uses the original literary works of Tolkien as its source for the locations, weapons, events, and characters. Players will venture into the Northern regions of Middle-earth where they can command one of the new civilizations from the game, the Elves and Dwarves, or fight on the side of Evil to finally conquer the land. As part of the game, EA also hired Hugo Weaving for voice work as Lord Elrond to introduce each of the game's missions.
