Horus Games has detailed their modern-day turn-based strategy title and released some exclusive screenshots.
The Wargamer has just recieved some inside information and screenshots from Horus Games regarding their turn-based strategy project, Frontlines: Operation Iraqi Freedom. As the title implies, the game is based on the most recent Gulf War and includes meticulously crafted modern technologies and units to give players a realistic strategic experience in waging the war on Saddam's Iraqi regime.
Lead developers of the project, Oliver "Peewy" Iven (Programmer) and Christoph "Sung" Schmucker (Design), have provided a nifty progress report on the game's development:
At this time we are working on version 0.50. A lot of things become real, most of the unit models are made. Over 50% of the in-game sounds are covered and the A.I. begins to play more intelligent. The screens you see [below] are from the map Rumaila oil fields. A huge map from the beginning of the Operation Iraqi Freedom. You see the suburb of the city of Basra in the right corner. There are 5 flagpoints for the allied forces to take. 4 Oilfields and one Airport "As Suaiba". The Iraqi forces are outnumbered as the allied forces have M2A2 Bradleys and LVTP7 Amtracks for this mission.
